Abbots Langley witnessed one of its most horrendous events of the entire year when staff and customers of a local chip shop were injured following a car losing control and smashing through the front window.
The shocking accident occurred at Dolphin Fish Bar on Langley Lane, when a 72-year-old driver lost control of his Volvo Estate and ploughed through the window of the shop, showering a member of staff with boiling hot oil and breaking the leg of a 24-year-old woman.
Abbots Langley Parish Council has been left saddened by the news of Councillor Betty O’Neil’s death over Christmas. The popular Abbots resident lost her long battle against cancer over the Christmas period, and those close to her have paid tribute to the tireless work she put in for so many years.
