ABBOTS MAN HAD COCAINE

An Abbots Langley man said he had a Class A drug to cure tooth ache after he was caught with it in the toilet of a Watford pub. The defendant, 26, of High Acres, was found to have a wrap of cocaine in his possession after door staff saw him acting suspiciously in the toilets of Chicago Rock Café on the night of Friday, March 21.

END OF AN ERA FOR MANOR HOUSE TREE

ImageThe Oak Tree at the Manor House grounds has stood for many generations a silent witness to many happenings and events, but sadly it has now been removed. Owners of the Manor House and estate have come and gone, and in most cases have had a decided influence on village life, but the tree has always been there.

Claytons Estate Agents, based on Garston Parade, received a call from the popular show as it was looking for a property due to having a buyer keen to move into the local area. They found the Hamilton Road property on Claytons’ website and arranged an appointment with them to have a look.

‘MR BIG’ ARRESTED

ImageAn international police operation has seen an Abbots Langley resident arrested after being accused of being at the centre of a £500,000 drug smuggling business. The 40-year-old, of Gallows Hill, was described as the “Mr Big” of an operation which saw more than 12 kilos of cocaine smuggled in from Mexico.

ImageFive players from Abbots Youth Under-15s have been picked to represent the Herts FA Schools to show off their skills and ability. George Jarvis, Josh Rose, Jordan Deverrick (Kings Langley School), Tom Bambury (Astley Cooper School) and George Hobson (Parmiter’s) all represent Abbots Youth Yellows and have reached the final of the East England Schools Football Association (EESFA) competition with Herts FA Schools and will take on Kent.
