HYGIENE HORROR AT LOCAL RESTAURANT

ImageA Hygiene Emergency Prohibition Notice has been served upon the owners of The Kings Lodge Hotel Bar and Restaurant in Hunton Bridge, by Three Rivers District Council. Watford Magistrates Court confirmed the subsequent Prohibition Order on Tuesday January 22.
When inspecting the Indian restaurant on January 16, a Three Rivers Environmental Health Officer found a dead rat in the dry food store, with droppings in other parts of the kitchen. The food preparation areas were also found to be filthy and as a consequence, the premises was closed to customers with immediate effect. Portfolio Holder for Public Services and Health, Councillor Phil Brading, said: "Any commercial premises serving food has a legal duty to its customers to employ a high standard of hygiene and adhere to Food Safety regulations. Where this is not the case, Three Rivers District Council will take swift action against those at fault and ensure high standards are met to protect the consumer." The Hygiene Emergency Prohibition Order will ensure that the Kings Lodge Bar and Restaurant will not re-open until District Council Environmental Health Officers are satisfied that the premises poses no further risk to health.
