ABBOTS GIRL PASSES GCSE AT 8 !

ImageAn extraordinary eight-year-old girl from Abbots Langley has shown off her brain power by becoming one of the youngest ever pupils to achieve a GCSE. Ellie Capocci achieved a grade C in her Information Computer Technology (ICT) exam after completing a two-year course in just 12 months through Ryde Teaching Services, which is based at Bushey Meads School.
Ellie studied for the exam outside of her normal school day during evening and weekend sessions, and took the two-paper exam back in January. As part of the course, she built up a database for her mum Kim of all her work contacts. Kim told My Abbots: “We are not a pushy family as this is something Ellie wanted to do. “She has always been inquisitive and is keen to learn new things. “She is just a normal eight-year-old kid who saw this as a bit of a hobby.” Ellie attended 4 one-hour classes on a Sunday morning so it did not interfere with her everyday school studies. The Tanners Wood School pupil, who wants to be a Marine Biologist when she is older, was overjoyed when she got her results through the post. Kim added: “She was so pleased because she didn’t think she had passed. “She found the second paper quite hard but we told her not to worry as these exams are designed for kids twice her age. “We’re very proud of her achievement and she’s even teaching us a thing or two on the computer now.” As her reward, she was treated to a meal at the Pin Wei restaurant, while her Grandmother also took her for afternoon tea at the Grove Hotel. Ryde Teaching Services have made the headlines over the past nine years for youngsters regularly passing GCSEs and A Levels usually reserved for 16 and 18-year olds.Well Done Ellie.
