A local travel agent had “the time of her life” after winning a competition to learn some of the dances from the hit musical Dirty Dancing, before going off to see the show live. Trina Elliott, who works at Langley Travel, won the competition through tour operator, Superbreak, along with nine other Travel Agents in the UK.
As part of her prize, Trina went down to London at the beginning of June to take part in a two hour dancing session at the famous 'Pineapple Studios' in Covent Garden. The class was taken by Ian and Emma, two dancers from the hit West End show, with Trina learning two dances featured in the film and stage production - the Mamba and the Cha Cha Cha! After her two hour dance session, she and the other travel agents checked into the Cumberland Hotel on Marble Arch where the group would be staying the night. She told My Abbots News : “We had an hour and a half to get ready and have dinner at the Thistle Hotel before we were taken to the Aldwych Theatre where we got to see the show with fantastic seats in the stalls. We even got to cheer Emma and Ian on when they were dancing on stage!” After the show it was back to the hotel bar for a few drinks before her overnight stay. The next morning it was back to reality and back to the office to show the girls all the dance moves she had learnt. She added: “The show was fantastic and I would highly recommend any Dirty Dancing fans to go - even the scenes you thought would be impossible to put on stage were absolutely brilliant!”Superbreak are a tour operator who specialise in hotels, theatre break packages and attractions in the UK and worldwide, so if there is a particular show you are looking to see, pop in and speak to Langley Travel.
