 An extraordinary eight-year-old girl from Abbots Langley has shown off her brain power by becoming one of the youngest ever pupils to achieve a GCSE. Ellie Capocci achieved a grade C in her Information Computer Technology (ICT) exam after completing a two-year course in just 12 months through Ryde Teaching Services, which is based at Bushey Meads School. |

TANNERSWOOD UNVEIL WILDLIFE AREA |

 Youngsters at Tanners Wood JMI School now have the opportunity to learn in the great outdoors, with the addition of a brand new Wildlife Area in a disused section of the school grounds. The Wildlife Area, which was funded by Three Rivers District Council, the Parent Teacher Association and Abbots Langley Tough Ten Committee, was officially opened by Councillors Ann Shaw and Martin Trevett on Wednesday, March, 12. Children, teachers and parents have worked hard over the past three years to clear the space, and research and design the area so that the pupils can learn about wildlife and natural habitats first hand. |

ABBOTS LADY FURY AT BEING KNOCKED OFF HORSE |

 An Abbots Langley resident has called on drivers to reduce their speed and be more courteous when approaching horses on the road after she was knocked off her horse by a bus. Catherine Belso, 28, of De Havilland Way, was riding her three-year-old horse, Prince, along the Bedmond Road when an Arriva Bus got too close and brushed her leg as it was pulling into a nearby bus stop. |

 An Abbots Langley couple, Don and Sylvia Guy are planning a charity motorbike ride from John O'Groats to Land's End. Don (64), a vintage motorcycle enthusiast is planning to celebrate the 70th birthday of his 1938 Rudge Ulster by riding the 1000 miles Top2Toe to raise funds for the NSPCC. |
