ABBOTS LANGLEY COMMUNITY CENTRE |
The Abbots Langley Community Centre renewal fund received a £12,500 boost last month when it was given a cheque for that amount by the charitable organisation A Heart for Abbots Langley.
A Heart for Abbots Langley, whose name is its mission, runs the 10.00 to 12.00 Friday morning coffee shop in the High Street’s Henderson Hall. It responded to the pressing need for funds of another local charity, The Abbots Langley Community Centre, by increasing its pledge to give £5,000 by a sum of £7,500, when its gift of £12,500 was presented on Friday 15th February. Plans for the Community Centre’s renewal are almost complete, however, there is an urgent need to obtain additional funding from other sources to supplement amounts promised and already received, if work is to be able to start when plans are finalised. Chairman of the Community Centre’s renewal committee, ANALCCA, Richard Kendal, said: "It would be difficult to overstate the importance of this very generous donation from A Heart for Abbots Langley. Money has been raised from numerous local people and organisations and this latest amount is a significant addition to our fundraising. We are now on the last lap of our project to update and improve the facilities available at the Community Centre for people throughout the Parish of Abbots Langley." Those who wish to support this project are asked to send donations to: ANALCCA, c/o 29 Langley Road, Abbots Langley WD5 0EH. |
