Three Rivers District Councillor and Abbots Langley Parish Councillor Sue Bartrick who represented Leavesden ward on both councils has stood down due to illness. Councillor Bartrick who represented the Liberal Democrats, resigned from both councils recently confirming that she was been treated for terminal cancer since last year and was now finding it more difficult to make meetings and attend to residents issues.
A local resident has praised the work of a park ranger who has helped to maintain Leavesden Country Park. Martin Brooks, a native Englishman who has spent most of his life in America, was tasked with looking after Leavesdon Park both North and South when he took on the role six months ago.
