Cowie Injured at DoncasterWatfords successful victory at Doncaster on Saturday was not all positive. Brendan Rodgers was forced into making all three of his substitutes due to injuries. The first of the injuries unfortunately fell to Scotsman Don Cowie after he headed in his third goal since joining Watford.

Don Cowie was taken off after playing just 35 minutes. Brendan explained that the reason he was substituted was because he had explained to the gaffer before the game that his thigh was feeling a bit tight. Rodgers allowed him to start the game and told him to grab a goal and then come off before you do yourself any damage-so he did.

Cowie was replaced by new boy Danny Rose who provided Watford with a great pacey option down the left hand side. He himself was eventually taken off injured in stoppage time after finding himself on the receiving end of several strong tackles and was replaced by Jon Harley.

Before this, Tamas Priskin had to be substituted after taking a whack to his ankle. He had had a bad ankle before international duty and it had swollen up slightly whilst he was away with Hungary. The whack he received in the first half only aggravated this injury and he was replaced by Will Hoskins early in the second half.

The extent of these injuries is not yet known but Brendan does not think that any of them are too severe.
