Watford FC have been boosted by the news that 18-year-old midfielder Ross Jenkins has signed a new three-and-a-half-year contract.
Jenkins, who has progressed through the club’s youth academy, has been a regular in manager Brendan Rodgers’ starting XI this season, and has committed his immediate future after some impressive performances.
On Jenkins, manager Rodgers said: “Ross is going to be a top player in the Premier League, we just hope it is here at Watford. We have sold it to him that he is in the best place possible and he feels at home here.”
Meanwhile, one of Jenkins’ fellow midfielders, John-Joe O’Toole, has moved on loan to Sheffield United until the end of the season. O’Toole, who has not started a game since the Hornets FA Cup win over Scunthorpe at the start of January, has found chances hard to come by under Rodgers despite eight goals this season.
